The Women’s Concert

We’re RAISING THE VOLUME OF WOMEN IN MUSIC with a special women’s concert and music series featuring an array of local female musicians who enrich our lives, our community, and the music industry with their talents. THE WOMEN’S CONCERT will kick off at WFSU Program Studios, to follow as both an annual event and ongoing music series at establishments across our community throughout the year.

Background: Music’s importance to the human experience cannot be overstated. Its relevance to our lives has led it to become a $26 billion industry, a field of opportunity and enrichment. Despite universal importance, women have faced historical and cultural challenges at all levels of the industry, but that is changing. It is with great pleasure we kickoff our Women’s Concert and Music Makes Her series to raise the volume and oppHERtunities for women in our local music industry and beyond.
