My name is Lanisha Thornton, the Founder, and Owner of Runnin’ Buzz Bartending Services, LLC. Runnin’ Buzz Bartending was created in October 2019 to offer a whole new level of a fun, personal, and professional beverage catering experience to different events within Florida and Georgia. We are set to accommodate anyone and everyone with a beverage of their choice. In other words, we not only mix and serve cocktails, but we also mix and serve mocktails (or non-alcoholic mixed beverages). We offer and serve mocktails so that other individuals, young and sober, know they can enjoy a good mix without alcohol, and no further questions are asked. We ensure that every event we cater gets a unique and personalized experience that would exceed our clients’ satisfaction.

However, one of our biggest takeaways of this business is getting our prospective clients to understand the importance of hiring a professional bartending service and the worth of a professional bartending service. Anyone can mix drinks at home, but there are advantages to having a professional service for your event. One of the most important is having a licensed and/or certified service because they have the knowledge behind the alcohol pouring techniques and the most accurate pour counts to an alcoholic mixed beverage. Another significant advantage is a bartending service should be insured to cover any and all liabilities that may occur while some are under the influence of alcohol. On the other side of it, there is the labor being put into bartending, and there is the equipment and supplies used. We are no different from any other service or job that has labor and costs.

We represent other individuals and businesses in our local community and city.

Outside of Runnin’ Buzz Bartending, I am a mother of four, I am a wife of a supporting husband, and currently a Legal Assistant in a local law firm. I am an active member in the Tallahassee community and with other organizations within the business industry, such as President of the Village of Pine Forest Homeowner’s Association since 2014; a Founding Member of the National Society of Black Wedding and Event Professionals; a member of the Big Bend Minority Chamber of Commerce; appointed member of the Minority, Women, & Small Business Enterprise Citizen Advisory Committee; a member of Women Wednesdays in which I recently became the first Program Coordinator for the new Going Places group; and I am an incubation member of DOMI. I am sure there is more that I am involved in, but this is what sums up most of them.

I have always shown virtues that would illustrate my life’s journey in leadership and service throughout my life. I have always strived to maintain a proven record of experience in both the public and private sectors. I believe my diverse work ethic and background have allowed me to keep my expertise in dealing with many areas of personal, commercial, and business-related manners.

My career plan initially was to pursue my education in law school and become a lawyer. However, due to an unforeseen accident that occurred, I’ve been allowed to pursue other dreams. And while doing so, I have learned God really had other plans for allowing me to remain in the legal profession while pursuing something I love. Most individuals know that I am successful with event planning, but I love mixology. I enjoy mixing drinks, I love creating and learning new things, and I love meeting and conversing with other people. So, I studied the basics with a bartending school (during the week), trained at an operating bar in Jacksonville, FL (on the weekends), and became a professional Bartender/Mixologist. I am now licensed to serve and certified to mix.
